I’m on day 4 of the cleanse. I find the lemon, maple syrup & cayenne pepper mixture very refreshing. Today I substituted lime for lemons and I hate the taste of it.
I don’t know how many pounds I’ve lost as the issue for me was not really weight loss but a fast to mark the beginning of a healthier lifestyle. The weight lost is a plus as I can now wear clothes that did not fit before.
Since day 2 I have had a runny nose and I sneeze whenever I’m preparing the mixture. There is a slight headache which goes once I drink another glassful.
The big challenge is lasting the 10 days. I want to be able to say “I did it!”
@ Mr Dante, Amen….. if all of you would READ the information given to you, the answer to your questions would be given before you ask! Caynenne pepper is a necessary catalyst. Lemons although acid in reality, become more basic when ingested. The maple has all of the nutritious value needed to survive for long period of time, and cant forgo life sustaining water. I mean no disrespect, but in the Bible days people survived on Much Much Much Much less. consider it a time to fast and pray. the weight will disappear if it is meant to on its own.
@ the guy with the Psoriasis, I would recommend reading Master cleanse book, because it has some natural remedies for skin conditions. If your on any medication continue as directed unless you medical provider tells you not to, the point at the end of the cleanse is to hopefully correct the bodily wrongs that we have done to ourselves over time through miss-use. granted we cant change genetics, but my belief is that bad health came about historically y our ancestral environmental choices and those biological changes were bore generation after generation. But the Master cleanse is an answer. it all comes from the earth and and sea. Not man made. Get with it people!
i am excited to try this. i am 5’4 185 lbs and jus feel unhealthier than i look. i kno im goin to hate the BMs. can anyone tell me where and how to find out how to start the diet, and the ingredients, and is part of the rules is that u cant have ANY food? i dont know who is responding to the questions but he seems a little rude doesnt he?
I did this cleanse earlier this year and I felt great at the end of 10 days. The hardest part for me was the first 4 days. After the 4th day I was fine. After my first cleanse I stopped eating all meat except fish and I exercised regularly. I’m hoping another cleanse will help me get back to that same healthy lifestyle.
This is my first day of the Master Cleanse and i feel moody and have a big headache. My headache won’t go away. I’m not so much hungry but that’s only when I’m not near food.. I’m aiming at 10 days on the master cleanse. I work graveyard shift so its a little complicated..

I went 3 days on the master cleanse. I felt tired the third day. After the cleanse, it seems I have been putting on weight. I weighed 122 after the cleanse. I started at 125. I watched what I ate, but am up to 130 within a few weeks. I really didn’t “pig out.” This could not have slowed my metabolism this quickly, but I am not sure what is happening to me!!!!!
Has anyone else experienced this type of weight gain???????

Hello – I have done the cleanse twice – the first time for 7 days the second for 4 days. I use the cayenne pills rather than add it to the drink – makes the drink much more palatable.
First time was a breeze. Second time I experienced head aches like I never knew possible on the second day (hangover type headache!) and then it was gone. Did not experience any hunger pangs at all except when walking past the vending machines at work – normally I do not even eat anything from them – weird. The 4 day cleanse resulted in a 12.5 pound weight loss – I have put about 2 back on but am using my cleanse as a stepping off point to eat better.
NO you can NOT do a cleanse while brestfeeding. Your body needs an extra 500 calories a day to feed your baby. Not eating yourself means your baby isn’t getting the nutrients he/she needs. The laxative effect of the diet will transfer to your baby. Extremely bad idea.

I started today. This video was extremely motivating! The salt water flush was sooooo hard to do but I got it down. If anyone has tips please share. I’m going to save this site to post as the days go by to keep me on track so I dont quite when it gets super hard. Is it ok if I did not do a pre-diet for 3 days before I started?

Can one do master cleanse without consuming the 1200 calories per day? Only consuming lemonade drink with occasional sugar free gum to give the mouth a chewing sensation; is this acceptable?
Its currently 11:05pm 1/29 which is the end of day6 for me!! I’m feeling great! Thankfully during the 6 days I haven’t had headaches, felt tired or hungry. I drink 80oz of the lemonade concoction and no less than a half of gallon of distilled water a day. I would have to say my first 3 days were the hardest, but not as in I was hungry, it was just that I wasn’t have too many bowel movements and I was starting to get worried. On the night of the first 2 days I would take psyllium husk. On the 3rd night I drunk smooth move tea. In the morning of the 4th day, after the salt water flush I had several bowel movements. I weighed myself this morning & I’ve lost 9 pounds, so I’m excited about that.Once I finish the cleanse I go straight to a 30 juicing fast!

This is my second time doing the cleanse, did 7 days about 4 years ago. I’m on my 2nd day and am doing fine so far, just a bit “antsy”. I’m doing this not to lose weight but to detox as I’m having a number of aches and pains and the cleanse helped with that the last time I did it. I would say that as challenging as it is, if you can just remember that you’re doing something good for yourself (and it’s not just about losing weight), it’s worth it. Both times I made a list of things to do to when I was tempted to give up and found that very helpful as it distracted me from wanting to eat! Never did a pre-diet before I started but most of the time I ate fairly healthy.
Hi, it’s the end of my second day, I started 2 years ago and I did it for 9 days, latter 6 and two times 3 days. This time I will try to do it 10 days at least but I take it as it comes. I did gain all weight back after the mastercleanses but healthywise it’s worthy. I really feel clean and that’s the best!
I am diabetic and when I don’t eat at certain times of the day I get shaky, week and ill feeling. I do not think I can do this Master Cleans. Are there any other diets that can be recommended for some one like me? I am about 70 lbs over weight and I feel awful that I can not loose this weight. I exercise every day but, I have not lost a single pound. I need help.
First three days were a piece of cake but I must say … Day 4 I am ready to eat. I am doing this on the recommendation of a health practitioner. Detoxing is the goal. I am shooting for 14 days … as I said, so far so good. Honestly, I feel GREAT.

I’m starting my master cleanse today. Yesterday I dranked the smooth move tea. Just dranked 20oz w/ 2teaspoon of sea salt. . . . added lemon so it wasn’t to bad. At about 9am I’m starting my first drink of the day – I have a 30oz bottle filled with lemon juice. Not bad, but it is a big spicy. But I love spicy stuff! =] Wish me luck, I’m going to shoot for 10 days!
FYI; I did not do the ease in. . . I find it harder if I do. =S IDK!

Today is the first day. I think for now I’m going for 10day cleansing. No hunger pains actually if you drink it every 2.5hrs (depending when you start your morning) you’ll be fine throghout the day. Question for anyone who can answer with the smooth laxative tea are you putting anything in it? I don’t have a scale so it’s going to be hard to tell what my results are. My daughter was doing it with me but to my surprise I caught her eating. We weren’t but 5hrs into it. lol I’ll keep everyone posted. Keep up the good work everyone!! We can do it!!
I am a diabetic, but am very well regulated and on pump therapy. The diet can be done, if well monitored, but I would recommend doing a series of cleansing hots baths- Epsom salts, sea salts… There are many out there. Start small. This will start you detoxing, help your insulin absorption and allow your body to filter out all those toxins so you can loose weight easier with a regular diet and exercise plan. I wouldn’t recommend starting Master cleanse if you are having low blood sugars. Talk to your doctor, but they will probably be no help. Listen to your body and educate yourself.

It worked great for me a couple of years ago. I went from 160/90 to 120/60. I’m headed to my third day going for 10.
to Dawn: I’m not diabetic so please take that into consideration with this advice. I’ve done a “fruit fast” (eat NOTHING BUT fresh fruits and vegetables for between 1 and 7 days, depending on how you feel)
- eat as much as you want anytime you want, juices are okay too as long as they don’t have added sugar in them). I think you get most or all of the benefits as the master cleanse.
I do it regularly when I get a cold or catch a virus and I inevitably feel 100% recovered in a couple days. -if you need to keep your blood sugar up you can always keep a bottle of juice or a piece of fruit with you at all times.
I did the cleanse for 27-days and it was quite beneficial. I cannot say that everyone will have the same experience I did but I don’t think everyone is going to.
The hardest part for me was the salt water flush. It is very hard to get down. I had to power through it but it did go down.
I was not hungry during that time but I did want to eat on several occasions, especially when my mind would wander to the idea of a bacon cheeseburger or carne asada burrito. It passes.
One thing people need to understand is that this is NOT a diet. One will lose weight, that’s inevitable all things considered, but this is not a diet. It is a detoxification. It is something to help the body.
I did lose 31-pounds. My cholesterol dropped from 181 to 146 and my blood pressure came down as well. I feel much better. I have been eating a much more vegetable/fruit rich diet as well as increased intake of whole grains. I have greatly minimized/eliminated processed sugars, flours, dairy, fried foods and meat. I have maintained my cholesterol levels, blood pressure and lowered weight for 6-months thus far based on my changed diet and regular exercise. Energy levels are up. I sleep much better. People say I look great.
If you’re looking for a diet, I suggest you find a diet. If you’re looking to make a major change in lifestyle, this is a great place to start.
my second day today. the salt water flush is already getting better than the first. i notice im thinner already, but thats prop because im not eating anything. this entire program isnt hard, the foods tempting but if you go near any, breathe through your mouth so you dont have to smell it. avoid LOOKING at food too.lol
No you should not chew gum while on the Master Cleanse because it will cause a build up of acid and gas in the stomach due to chewing with no digestion occuring.
This is my first time doing the Master Cleanse today is DAY 4 (not count the ease in ) for me and its not that bad the only thing i can due without is the excessive runs to the bathroom but its expected. Is anyone else experiencing vivid dreams while on the Master Cleanse?
Note: Im currently loseing a pound a day and just LOVE that. Was 189 as of 1/2011 lost 10 pounds but could not get past 179 until started the Master Cleanse as of today Im 169. I truly belive this drop in weight was due to the Ease In and the Master Cleanse Detox. I Plan on doing it for 10 days.

I am on day 4 of the master cleanse and I am feeling great as well as losing the weight! I have lost 7.5 lbs. and I have been trying to lose weight on Weight wathchers for the past 6 weeks and was only able to lose 1-2 lbs. I think the key is to rid your body of the toxins.! I had the headaches and I also felt like I was getting a cold, lots of mucous but it passed the very next day. I am going to go for 14 days! wish me luck!
Dawn If you haven’t lost a pound even though you have been working out day in and day out, then I would suggest changing your workout routine. You may need to kick it up a notch or changing your routine occasionally so that your body doesn’t adapt to the workout. I’m pre-diabetic, 30, was 264 lbs, and got down to 227 within 90 days. I was active up until 8 years ago and sacrificed my health while going to school and raising a small family. I would work out 2-3 times a week without any changes. So the most effective and drastic change was my workout routine by changing it occasionally and kicking it up a notch from time to time. As for dieting, all I got rid of was soda. Just a suggestion you try something like that.
As for the Master Cleanse, I’m at the end of my first day. I love the elixir but dislike the SWF. What I like about this diet as with any diet or exercise program is that it takes discipline. As much as it is physical, I believe it is more mental then anything else. If I were diabetic I wouldn’t be doing this diet, but I’m blessed enough to be pre-diabetic which is still a risk. Day two here I come. Stay strong!
Hello! It seems I am in good company. I am doing the cleanse again, after about 5 years from when I used to cleanse regularly (every quarter for 10 days). I stopped when I moved and haven’t been right since! When I was cleansing regularly, and eating healthier I was a cute 155 pounds to my 5’11″ frame. Now I weighed myself just before the cleans I am a slightly pudgy 175 pounds. 20 pounds over the years. I don’t want to loose all of the weight, but I would like to be back around 163. 12 Pounds almost seems like a far-away land from here but I am going to do it! I started some medication that changed my appetite a lot, and I want to get back to where I was before the meds. While I definitely need them, I don’t need my eating habits to be so drastic. Day one has been fine so far. A little hungry, but nothing serious. The trick for me, since I have low blood sugar issues, is to drink the lemonade every three hours. This helps with any headaches I may experience. Other than that, I am excited to see the results. I will be doing light pilates the entire time I am on as well, so I hope to lose, but also firm up! Very excited about this time around on the cleanse!!
Hey everyone. Good job! I just started the cleanse today… planning for ten days but hoping to go longer. I am a little worried about slowing my metablism down with this… I have done starvation diets before and noticed it slowed it down a lot. I thought with this one on day 4 that i would start eating a little piece of salmon once a day to get that protien.. is this ok? or should i stick to only liquids still then?

I was enlightened about The Master Cleanse by a fellow cyclists who heard how all the Pro cyclists “cleanse” their bodies after the season is over. Due to the large amount of calories that cyclists take in during the season and “what” they take in….a lot of sugars…both good and bad! I decided to give it a go….well..needless to say…it has changed my life!!! I have completed the process for several Falls/Winters(after racing cycling season). As of today, March 7th, 2011…I am on my 7th day! As you will read from most posters…the 1st couple to 4 days are critical. FYI…make sure to drink a TON of water…I currently drink over 2 gallons a day!!! I do work out during the cleanse…but try NOT to workout(ride) hard &/or long….I try to keep my workouts under an hour & a half…typically in the off season(winter) inside on a trainer.
So, to all who are skeptical….give it a go!!! You will be truly amazed!!!
i would like to know if anyone as gain the weight right back or if anyone as been able to keep there weight after the cleanse? i am at my 5 day n i feel fine but i just can’t stop thinking about the consequences after the cleanse. I hear some ppl saying they gained it all back others saying they didn’t..
Today is my first day of the cleanse. I have completed the cleanse once before. I was grumpy and hungry the entire time. I was abl e, however, to go for thriteen days. Well, I plan to go at least 10 days and then shoot for 21 days. My only concern is my attitude. I am hard to deal with when I am hungry. I get very irritable- not a good feeling or a good look. Wish me well, oh and my husband and coworkers too. Lol.
Day 1 of the cleanse for me, did my tea last night (tastes vile) but I braved it.. SWF was equally as awful but I managed to get it down me and saw the effects fairly quickly which was strangely invigorating!!
Its 18.37 and I’ve not eaten a thing,I feel fine although its hard to resist the urge to grab something out the fridge.. Might be an early night for me! Planning to do 10 days but I’m meant to be out for dinner with friends on Saturday so it may just be 4 to start then I’ll do it again in a few weeks.. we’ll see though
Is it a problem for a person nearing 70 to go on the cleanse.
I am havig a terrible time with the salt water flush. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. I have tried drinking it slowly and I can’t finish the whole quart. I’ve tried just chugging it all at once and I almost though it all up. I’m currently on day 5 ofthe cleanse.
Today is my First Day , I’m 170 Lbs and I need to clean my body out …I will take it one day at a time …So Far so Good , just thinking that I won’t have to worry about what do I need to eat , or I have to cook healthy for me …I have nothing to worry for a whole month …I only have to make this drink …easy enough… advice about the salt water …if the water is room temp or a bit warm is not so bad ….so Good Luck to Me !
Well, My day # 1 was ok…I was stress out , super busy at work and not having to think about food was actually good …I had some moments of hunger but I had a glass of the Limonade and eventually went away …the mind is a powerful organ…TELL YOURSELF…I’m cleaning my system out , I’m letting my cells and organs detox and this is GREAT THING …

don’t think of the 10 days …one day at the time , I had a really bad hedache last nigth but its because I’m addicted to Coffee…Cuban, Expresso, Cafe con Leche Coffee…and because I knew this I was ok, and I just laid down with a cold cloth and made it thru ….again …day 2 … staying positive …straying strong … when you get hungry …walk away …take a break and walk outside … feel the sun …WALK AWAY …Drink your water , your limonade , and stay strong …

at night watching March Madness!!! The warm tea on the stomach is fantastic!!! I do take in a mint or two to help with the mouth/tongue issues.
FYI…..if anyone is getting headaches…there because you are getting(already are!) dehydrated.
So, again, drink a ton of water. If you don’t like water(?)…spice it up with a squeeze of lemon/lime & a drop or two of maple syrup. I put this in my tea as well.

my first time…I did not eliminate until about the
fourth day….make sure to drink at least 32 oz. of pure water & sea salt…I use a tablespoon.
And then drink more water if need be.
Day # 3 …no hungry …a bit stress with some personal problems so I had to admit I did smoke a couple of Cigarrets
, hopefully this cleanse will help me with the need to smoke when I’m stress …I’m not hungry , maybe if I smell something pop corn or something but no Hungry to death yet, the idea of non having to worry about what I eat is motivating …how ever a lot of # 1 …not so much # 2 …none really …so I’m not sure why , but again strong and drinkling my limonade and water so will see
